FAQ

What kind of game is Potato Please?
A first-person potato-peeling game with physics, dark Soviet-era humour, and incremental automation. You peel a finite pile, buy tools and machines, and finish a quota.
How long is Potato Please?
Community reports cluster at 3–5 hours for one run. The main achievement guide estimates 4–5 hours to 100% with one playthrough plus ending reloads. The developer has not published a length.
How many potatoes is the quota?
Community screenshots of the HUD show 60,000. The developer has not published the number on the store page or in patch notes; the Quota achievement only says “Peel every last potato”.
How many endings are there?
Three levers produce three main endings. Your Own Executioner is a missable variant of the Varenka ending. No Escape and Unauthorized Passenger are hidden story beats, not endings.
Can I get every ending in one run?
Yes. Make a manual save in the train cab before pulling a lever, then reload and pull each one. The community guide confirms that route.
Which achievement is missable?
Your Own Executioner. Pavel’s loyalty is decided by replies across the whole game and cannot be changed at the ending.
Is there a fail state?
No. You can waste time and potatoes, but the shift does not end because you were slow. The endings are choices.
Can I play with a controller?
Yes. Steam lists full controller support and Steam Input API support. Peeling is cursor-like, so adjust stick sensitivity before judging it.
Is there multiplayer or co-op?
No. Single-player only, with Steam Cloud, achievements and family sharing.
Does it run on Steam Deck?
There is no Steam Deck compatibility rating on the store page at the time of writing. The game is Windows-only, so a Steam Deck run would use Proton; we have not verified it.
Why is my character walking by itself?
A connected steering wheel, pedals, flight stick or virtual joystick driver. Patch 1.0.1 fixed this conflict; unplug the device or update.
Why does the game slow down late?
Peeled potatoes jamming the water channel caused heavy slowdowns before 1.0.2. Update, buy channel speed levels, and clear loose potatoes from the yard.
Do machines count for A Thousand Peels?
Yes. Only Old School and These Hands Were Made for Peeling require hand peeling.
Is this site official?
No. It is an independent fan manual, not affiliated with Golden Horn Studios. The only official source is the Steam page.
Where do I report a bug?
Use the in-game Troubleshooting page, which has a report option. The developer asked for reports there in both hotfix posts.
